Guji
Nestled between Sidama and Yirgacheffe in the Oromia zone, Guji Zone coffee thrives at elevations between 1500 – 2100 masl. Known for its sweetly tart acidity, it offers a spectrum of flavors from sweet lemon candy to floral tea and heavy green melon, with a bright, winey, yet balanced feel.
Sidama
SNNPRS and Oromia regions produce both washed and unwashed Sidama coffees. With medium-sized beans in greenish/grayish hues (Burbon and typica), washed Sidama coffee is celebrated for its round cup, balanced acidity, and sweet mocca flavor. Grown at altitudes of 1400 – 2200m, it presents a spicy, lively acidity, a rich tactile sensation, and sweet, explorative flavor notes.
Yirga- Cheffe
Hailing from SNNPRS and Oromia regions, Gedeo and Guji zone, Yirga-Cheffe stands as one of the finest highland-grown coffees. With fine acidity, a rich body, and excellent mocha flavor and aroma, it is in high demand, often commanding premium prices. Washed or unwashed, Yirga-Cheffe’s medium-sized, compact, and dense green beans are a delight, grown at altitudes of 1500/2200 meters.
Nekemte
Originating in Western Ethiopia, Nekemt coffee is prized for its flavor and large bean size. Greenish to brownish in color, it boasts a clean cup with slightly fruity acidity and the body of a quality mocha. Integral to many roasters’ blends, it also shines as an excellent gourmet single varietal. Grown at altitudes of 1400 – 1800m and 1500 – 2300m above sea level, Nekemt coffee promises a distinctive and delightful experience.
